For over six decades, Perpetual Succor Hospital and Maternity, Inc. (PSHM) has been a beacon of healing and commitment to the health of the Filipino family. In 1957, visionary physicians Drs. Raymundo and Josefina Macaraeg founded the hospital with the mission to provide exceptional care to patients and to the community. The husband and wife team built the hospital to be a sanctuary where expertise meets empathy and where every patient is treated with genuine concern.
From its humble beginnings, PSHM is now a five-storey building with a 100-bed capacity. Seasoned medical professionals, respected in their fields of study, serve around 100,000 patients annually from across the country. Its more than 300 doctors and 70 medical staff offers a wide range of medical services, such as cardiology, endocrinology, internal medicine, pediatrics, and surgery, among others. The cornerstone of the healthcare it provides though remains to be obstetrics and gynecology. The hospital, through its team of experts, provides prenatal care, safe deliveries, and postpartum support.
The exceptional healthcare that PSHM gives is strengthened by its efficient hospital administration and support services. For 15 years, it has maintained an ISO 9001 certification for its Quality Management System (QMS). This standard ensures continuous improvement, patient safety, and efficient processes. The hospital also holds an ISO 45001 certification for Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) – meaning its environment is secure not just for patients but also for staff and visitors.
Beyond these treatments and certifications however, it is its compassionate, patient-centered care that sets PSHM apart. The hospital has always stood by its thrust of “Healing with a heart”. And as it moves forward to its 68th year, it will continue to do so to honor Our Lady of Perpetual Succor and its founders’ legacy and to help care for the Filipino family.
